Mad Pride Jewelry Making Night!  Saturday June 3rd, 6:30-8:30pm, Akasha Yoga Studio, FOR BOTH THOSE WITH ERD AND THEIR FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Being a peer-run organization, you might say that Dialectical Living is at the forefront of “Mad Pride” all year round!  This is why on Saturday June 3rd, from 6:30-8:30pm at Akasha Yoga studio, we invite you to come out to our bi-monthly art therapy Meetup, Be Creative with ERD/BPD to make DBT jewelry which will then be sold at Mad Pride’s Mad Market, on July 15th.  This month will be FREE OF CHARGE, with all materials, and snacks supplied.  This month is also unique in that we are inviting your friends and family to join us as one big happy Meetup!  The studio is located on the upper level of 351 Danforth Ave.

The Mad Market will feature art by “mad” artists, consumers/survivors, and all those whose lives are touched by mental health challenges. Proceeds from the Mad Market will be going towards subsidized spaces in our DBT and Mindfulness classes!  At Dialectical Living, we frequently offer subsidized spaces for low-income consumers and we would love to do more of this.  Come out to make beautiful mental-wellness jewelry for a great cause.

Why is Mad Pride important?

Those in our society suffering from emotional and mental struggles are routinely pathologized and labelled in often stigmatizing and limiting ways.  Mad Pride is a movement to reclaim the narrative around what it means to live with mental health challenges. Mad Pride Toronto is a weeklong celebration of workshops and public events for those who have “survived” the mental healthcare system, their friends, families and supporters, and really anyone who identifies as experiencing moments of madness in their lives.

Opportunities for Peer Work:

We also invite any of you to participate as a peer at Dialectical Living’s Mad Pride Mad Market booth on July 15th!  What a great way to dip your toe into peer work in a validating and safe environment, surrounded by beautiful arts and crafts, all for a great cause.

With any questions or to RSVP for the Meetup email OR simply RSVP on our Meet-Up sites, Toronto Borderliners with Love and Toronto Borderliners with Love Friends and Family.
